Alien Gear Holsters: Everyday Carry Gear

Carly Brasseux // February 20

My boyfriend and I started looking around for everyday carry (EDC) gear. He basically hates every option he’s ever tried (can we say picky?!) and I’m just starting my journey. So, we found Alien Gear Holsters. They offer concealed and open-carry holsters made in the USA and backed by a forever warranty. So… I wanted to learn more!

What to Know About Alien Gear Gun Holsters:

They offer quality conceal carry holsters for IWB (inside the waistband) and OWB (outside the waistband).

They started in 2013 and in my opinion, if a business can stick around for 10+ years, they must be doing something.

Alien Gear Holsters supports our second amendment. Lots of their employees, including the founder and CEO, are veterans of our great nation.

They’ve been awarded 4.6 out of 5 stars on Google and honored to receive the “Best Holster in the History of Ever” from Concealed Nation, the largest concealed carry website in the world.

You’ll receive a 30-day money-back guarantee and a forever warranty (yes, FOREVER like the movie The Sandlot).

What to Know About Everyday Carry (EDC) Gear:

Everyday carry, or EDC, is technically your everyday collection of useful items that are consistently carried. However, in more recent years, it’s referred to as the gun you carry every day. Your EDC gun should be up to the task of defending your life (and we should always mention gun safety: make sure you are trained in how to shoot quickly and accurately in self-defense situations).

Everyday carry gear can include:

Tools: knife, flashlight, multi-tool, lighter

Medical: first-aid kit

Miscellaneous items: wallet, ChapStick, ferro rod

Alien Gear Holsters Review

I chose the ShapeShift Holster Core Carry Pack. I chose this pack because, since I’m new to EDC, I wanted to have all the options for holstering. It offers four different carrying options: IWB, Appendix Carry, OWB paddle, and OWB slide holster. The ShapeShift Modular Holster System underwent two years of development to ensure that each holster method is the best in terms of comfort, concealability, and functionality.

IWB Holster

  • Comfortable and ultra-concealable
  • Stainless-steel core for structural support
  • Soft CoolVent neoprene base for comfort
  • Single mounting point eliminates printing
  • Enhances the holster's ability to bend against the body

Appendix Carry Holster

  • Breathable neoprene backer
  • Fully covered trigger guard for safety
  • Comfortable for appendix carry
  • Optional thumb release for extra security

OWB Paddle Holster

  • Customizable design
  • Adjustable active and/or passive retention
  • Ergonomic thumb release
  • 360-degree adjustable cant

OWB Slide Holster

  • Made of the same sturdy material as the OWB paddle holster
  • Reliability and stability with no wobbling or wearing down over time

It's definitely the most versatile holster system on the market. It was also perfect for my boyfriend since he wants to try different carrying options.

Tip: When you open the box for the first time, everything is in separate “areas” of the box. Keep the parts in the same “area” as you read the directions. We took each piece out and then it was confusing! Each “area,” is labeled, so if you take everything out first, you’ll start off unorganized.

If you choose this pack from Alien Gear Holsters, I’d also recommend watching their how-to video as you get started.

So, if you’re in the market for your everyday carry gear, look into Alien Gear Holsters. It’s perfect for new handgun owners/carriers as they get a feel for which carry method works best for them.
