Otis Technology Airgun Maintenance and Cleaning Kit Review

Jaimie Robinson // May 11

Air guns are becoming increasingly popular, especially for target shooting and for small and large game alike. But just like our ammunition-powered guns, we need to take care of all our weapons. Air guns encompass both air pistols and air rifles. Otis Technology has the solution for cleaning our air guns in a convenient, ready-to-go kit.

Pellet guns are the most common type of air gun and still use a lead or other metal alloy projectile. They differ in whether they use CO2 or air tanks or a spring to compress the air for their projectile. This reduces the combustion waste and dirt from that in the barrel, but we still need to keep the moving parts lubricated and to ensure they are in working order to perform when we need them. With the compressed air system, we need a lubricant that will not degrade to o-rings and seals. Otis provides all the items to take apart and clean your air gun.

Otis Technology Airgun Maintenance and Cleaning Kit Review

The process of cleaning an air gun is quite simple. As always, please read the owner’s manual first. First, you put the head of your correctly sized patch tool through one of the holes, then pinch the patch upwards. Then that pinched portion goes through the slot and into the tip to make a flower-like cleaner. The kit comes with a Breach-To-Muzzle cable for quick, easy cleaning. This cable can either be back-fed through the muzzle or through the breech of the chamber. Place a few drops of the silicone lubricant and feed out through the muzzle. You then repeat with a dry patch to remove excess cleaner. This is just as easy and perhaps easier than cleaning a traditional rifle.

The AirGun Maintenance and Cleaning Kit comes with the following:

  • Silicone-based lubricant
  • Silicone gun cloth
  • Hex L-wrench set (.71, .89, 1.27, 1.5, 2, 2.5 & 3mm)
