Venor Women’s Clothing:: Leggings and More

Laura Coppola // June 7

It has been a couple of weeks since I started wearing my Venor clothes, and I’m hooked.

The items that I have been wearing include the base tee, graphic tee long sleeve, shot sweatshirt, and pintail sweats. I am 5’ 8” and typically wear a medium in tops and bottoms. For my Venor order, I ordered the tops in a size medium and a size large for the pants. I’ll tell you about each piece and then let you know which is my favorite!

The Venor Pieces I loved!

Base Tee

I have the base tee in vaporous gray. This is a versatile shirt. It can easily be dressed up or down. The material of the shirt is thick enough so that it isn’t see-through but it is still breathable and soft. The material also includes a bit of texture and has a “rough” edge detail around the sleeves and at the bottom. The fit of the neckline is nice because it isn’t tight but it also isn’t large enough to the point of bra straps will possibly show. In my opinion, these are the features that really set this tee apart from others. The sleeves are flowy which makes this shirt great on warmer days.

The base tee is also a bit longer in length which is a huge plus for me. I am still nursing my baby so the loose, longer fit makes it very conducive for breastfeeding. The only note I want to mention is the openings at the armpits are large. This doesn’t take away from the look of the shirt, it just means that you’ll be able to see what bra or tank top you have on under the shirt if you lift your arms. Again, this isn’t a bad this but I do think it is worth mentioning.

Graphic Tee

I ordered the long sleeve graphic tee with the canoe print. This shirt is so soft! The front is plain white and the canoe graphic is printed across the back. The graphic itself is a really neat image and is printed with earth tones. It fits loosely (i.e. oversized) just like the description on the website states. I love how loose-fitting and soft this shirt is and I find myself choosing it over all my other long sleeves.

Shot Sweatshirt

The shot sweatshirt that I have is in pirate black. This is a zip-up style sweatshirt and is fitted around the waist and sleeves while the hood and pockets are oversized. The color isn’t a harsh black – it reminds me more of faded black. There is a cool detail on the left pocket where you can put five shotgun shells. You’ll be able to hold a lot more in your pockets as well! The exterior is smooth and the interior is a waffle pattern. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and soft this sweatshirt is compared to others that I own. I toss this sweatshirt on most mornings because it is so soft and offers an interior of something other than fleece.

Pintail Sweats

The pintail sweats that I have are also in pirate black so they are the same color as my shot sweatshirt. These sweats fit loosely but do come in a bit towards the ankles. The material is cotton and on the thicker/warmer side. The waistband is wide and has a drawstring so it is super comfortable which is really important for postpartum recovery. The bottom of the pants has a rough, more rugged-looking edge. The coolest detail about these pants is the subtle feather graphic on the side.

The description says that they fit loosely and this is accurate. I ordered a large even though I am usually a size medium but I should have stuck with my regular size. Because of that, I can confidently say they are true to size. I will say the large fit a bit better once they shrunk in the wash a bit. Overall, these are sweats are really comfortable and warm.

The most important part of this review – my overall thoughts on Venor clothing! When I ordered the clothes, I was most excited about the sweats and least excited about the shot sweatshirt. Don’t get me wrong, I was still excited about all of the items, I just ranked them for reviewing purposes.

My favorite piece is actually the shot sweatshirt! It seriously is the softest sweatshirt with the perfect thickness.

Overall, Venor clothes are comfortable, of great quality, and practical. You can tell that a lot of thought went into each item and the details really set them apart from other brands. Part of Venor’s mission states “to help her seize every opportunity, bringing fashion and adventure together” and I really feel this holds true.
